RULES OF THE COMPETITION

1. The Competition is organised by the Association of Artistic Education Managers and Teachers.

The partner is the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Primary Music School in Trzciana, Piano-Centrum Gazdowicz.

2. The aim of the Contest is:

– promoting piano literature: solo and duets and chamber music

– integration of musical environments – professionals and amateurs

– enjoying making music together

3. The Contest is held in the Online version, it is worldwide.

4. The jury consists of experienced artists — educators led by Professor Cezary Sanecki

– solo category and piano duets

– chamber category

The work of the Jury is based on the Rules of the Jury.

5. Auditions are held in the following age categories:

I born in 2016 and younger — presentation time max. 8 minutes

II born in 2013- 2015 — presentation time max. 10 minutes

III born in 2010-2012 — presentation time max. 12 minutes

IV born in 2007-2009 — presentation time max. 15 minutes

V born in 2003- 2006 — presentation time max. 20 minutes

VI open – no age limit — presentation time max. 30 minutes

In the case of duets, the age of the older participant determines whether they belong to the category.

In the case of chamber ensembles, the average age of the participants determines whether they belong to the category.

Specifying the duration of the presentation “max.” sets the upper limit of its duration, but does not require its completion.

The program in all categories is free.

In the solo category, the songs should be performed from memory.

6. Rules for video recordings:

– no audio editing allowed

– individual pieces or parts thereof can be recorded separately

– the video recording must not be older than 12 months

– the camera view must clearly show the performer

– only links to YouTube set as public/unlisted are acceptable — please do not upload files for download and with the “private” status

All Video materials submitted by participants are the property of the Competition and may be used on the Competition’s YouTube channel, website and other social media.

7. Prizes will be awarded in a 60-100 point system

I prize – from 90 to 100

II prize from 80 to 89

III prize from 70 to 79

distinctions from 60 to 69 

The Jury’s decision is final and irrevocable.

The winners of the first place will receive financial prizes.

The winners and their teachers will receive their diplomas and certificates by e-mail.

The winners of all places are invited to participate in the Laureates’ Concert at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice – the date will be announced at a later date.

8. Conditions of participation

Entry fee

– solo category and piano duets – 50 EURO

– chamber ensembles category – 100 EURO

The payment can be made in PLN, according to the exchange rate from a given day.

The application is made by sending an e-mail to the following address:

– completed application form

– photograph

– link to the video recording on YouTube

– confirmation of payment (possible commissions and additional costs for transfers are borne by the participant)

– a scan of a document confirming the participant’s date of birth

CONTEST RULES

1. The Competition is organized by the Association of Executives and Teachers of Education
Artistic in Poland.

2. The aim of the Competition is:

propagation of piano, chamber and orchestral literature,

integration of musical environments, professionals, amateurs; enjoying music together.

3. The competition takes place in the Online version and is aimed at musicians from all over the
world.

4. The jury consists of experienced educators, artists chaired by:

Solo category – piano, piano duets – prof. Elżbieta Hoffman;
Chamber and orchestral category – prof. Maciej Tworek.

The work of the Jury is regulated by a special Jury Protocol.

5. Auditions are held in:

for pianists and piano duos: 6 age groups

Group I (contestants born in 2016-2017)

The performance must not be longer than 5 minutes.

Group II (contestants born in 2013-2015)

The performance must not be longer than 10 minutes.

Group III (contestants born in 2010-2012)

The performance must not be longer than 15 minutes.

Group IV (contestants born in 2007-2009)

The performance must not be longer than 20 minutes.

Group V (contestants born in 2003-2006)

The performance must not be longer than 25 minutes.

Group IV (Open Group — there are no age restrictions)

The performance must not be longer than 30 minutes.

In the case of piano duos, the age of the older member of the team determines the membership in a particular group.

for chamber ensembles — 3 age groups

Group I (contestants born in 2007 or later)

The performance must not be longer than 20 minutes.

Group II (contestants born in 2002 or later)

The performance must not be longer than 25 minutes.

Group III (contestants born in 2001 or earlier)

The performance must not be longer than 30 minutes.

There is no age limit in the orchestra category (the performance must not be longer than 30 minutes).

Belonging to a given age group is determined by the average age of the performers in the case of the chamber ensembles.

The information about the max. duration of the performance indicates the upper limit of the duration of the presentation, but it absolutely does not have to fill it!

6. The program is free for all categories.

Special prizes are planned for the best performance of the work:

— from the following collections in the category of solo piano and piano duets:

  • R. Schuman: “Album for Youth”,
  • P. Tchaikovsky – “Album for Youth”,
  • pieces by E. Grieg, F. Schubert, R. Schumann,

and

— in the category of chamber ensembles and orchestra:

  • compositions by Krzysztof Penderecki or pieces written in the twentieth or twenty-first century
    by another Polish composer.

7. Rules for video recordings:
a) Do not edit the sound. Individual songs or parts of them can be recorded separately.

b) The video recording must not be older than 12 months. The camera view must clearly show the Artist.

c) Playing by heart is mandatory in solo categories, piano duos can play with notes.

d) Only YouTube links set to public/unlisted are accepted. Please do not upload files for download and status “private”.

e) All videos submitted by entrants are the property of the contest and may be the property of the contestant use on the YouTube channel, the competition website and other media Social.

8.  Prizes will be awarded in a 60-100 point system:

I prize: from 90 to 100,
II prize
: from 80 to 89,
III prize
: from 70 to 79,
Distinction: from 60 to 69.

The Jury’s decision is final and irrevocable.

The winners and their teachers will receive their diplomas and certificates by e-mail.

Winners will receive cash prizes of:

I prize in the category solo piano and piano duets — 300 Euros,

I prize in the category chamber ensemble — 500 Euros,

I prize in the category orchestra — 1000 Euros.

All winners of all places are invited to the Laureates’ Concert at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice — POLAND; receive extensive promotions on the website of the competition and the organizers and receive special prizes.

9. Conditions of participation:
a) Registration fee
— category solo piano and piano duets: 50 euros,
— category chamber ensemble: 100 euros from the band,
— Category orchestra: 180 euros from the whole orchestra.
